How To Improve Your DJ Sound

I’ve used loop before, everyone has I suppose  so you need more work to your creativity. To be a popular DJ you need to develop a unique sound that will stand out and draw people’s attention. So how do you go about that? Here are some tips:

  1. Use high quality instruments

Quality turntables means quality effects quality sounds so you need quality products like high quality tube amplifiers for turntables.

  1. Add delays to acoustic instruments

When trying to increase the motion of an acoustic instrument without tampering with the original sound you need to simple effect of adding a delay. Use the Dynamic Delay plugin to achieve a great activity. Try using a marimba on pop music, no one or very few people have tried that so it can make you stand out.

  1. Come up with long reverb tails

Apply a long tail with a reverb. Just be experimental. You can apply a 15-second tail. This may be seen as being too much but if you use it sparingly, you can create a lot of fun and draw interest to listeners. Insert it in a track instead of using it like a send effect. With such a creative way, you can now start boasting of being a real digital DJ and soon the world is going to know your name. First, the piano notes will be heard then you will hear them again but this time they will be heard with a long reverb. The notes will seem more interesting.

  1. Pitch the instruments up and down

You should try practicing this technique, crazy as it sounds, you will be surprised at how amazing it is to your sound effects. The sounds will be so cool that you have never imagined. For instance, take a xylophone, which has a mid and high note, but has no low notes. But try pitching the instrument lower. This will create a new sound from the same instrument. The more you pitch the sounds the more creative you make your sound to be, and that’s your main goal. Just don’t overdo it, enough is best, excessive is awful.

  1. Use layer effects

You already have three tricks to enhance your sound, so what do you think if we start combining them, couldn’t it be more interesting?  Shift, delay and throw in a reverb and listen to the sound that you will create at the end of it all

  1. mix and match

Mix and match various effects on different tracks and at different points of the truck, at the beginning, the middle or at the end when transitioning. What sounds first like a pop song will end up sounding something more, more interesting.

With this tips I am looking forward to hear what skills you have acquired so far, I hope you will wow.
